The release dates for Matric results are one of the most important dates in South Africa. It is important because Matric students discover how they performed in their exams, and also to find out whether they will be able to further their studies at university or not. The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has confirmed it was on schedule for the release of the matric results for the Class of 2022.
The matric results are expected to be released on 19 January.
Despite allegations levied at a group of teachers and students in Mpumalanga for using WhatsApp to cheat on certain exams last year, the department has said that everything is currently on track to meet the 20th January release date. There were some fears that after the conclusion of the department’s probe into the matter, the results release date could be moved, or that some learners would have their results withheld. No new information about the alleged scandal has been published by the department, and it seems to be going forward with the release of the marks.
Matriculants are expected to receive their results on January 19 and their original statements from January 20. Due to the (POPI) Protection of Personal Information Act also known as the POPIA Act. The names of learners and other confidential will not appear in newspapers. only exam numbers will be published. Last year’s Grade 12 pupils can look forward to 2022 matric results on the 19 January but exam centres should have them by the 20 January 2022 according to Education minister Angie Motshekga.
